Powerful waves often break very close to the shore here at Praa Sands. I love the movement and colour of this work of art, capturing the beauty of our beach. The curl of the wave and the light and colour are what for me make this a great seascape painting. There is something about waves breaking on the shore that is mesmerising to watch as one after another comes crashing in, maybe it’s because I love to surf!
Praa Sands is a great beach for surfing and for watching the waves break. The best conditions for a shore break like this is a high tide and a north-westerly wind, which is offshore. It is also a great place for inspiration for seascape painting!
